About Online Business Analytics Degrees
It seems like pretty much everything is done online these days, especially since the pandemic. But that’s not quite true when it comes to business analytics education at the graduate level. Whether it’s a Master of Science in Business Analytics or an MBA with a focus in the area, American higher education has yet to reach the tipping point at which most schools offer this training online.
While the 25 programs on this list represent what we feel are the best online master’s degrees you can earn in business analytics, your specific calculation for what makes a good degree may vary, and there are a few things to balance when making your choice:
- Cost: Keep in mind total tuition costs as well as per-credit costs, and be sure to pay attention to any related fees, as those can add up quickly.
- Flexibility: Are any majors or concentration areas offered? If not, how much freedom do you have to choose electives that can help you chart your own course academically? Is the curriculum delivered to a cohort of students, all working in lockstep, or are students able to get work done on a less-strict schedule?
- Accreditation: The gold standard in business school accreditation is from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), but other major accrediting organizations in the space include the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), regional accrediting groups like the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). All the programs that made our list have earned AACSB accreditation through their school or department.
