What Opportunities Does the Program Offer?
The MSBA at Marshall incorporates a heavy career development component. Students work with the Graduate Career Services team to think through future career choices and make current course and curriculum decisions based on them. The team will help you “plan your career progression; explore new markets; develop networking techniques; learn negotiation strategies; update your resume; refine your interviewing skills.”
International students will also find great support in this program: “As a STEM-certified program, our international students benefit from the 24-month STEM extension of post-completion OPT, increasing their total work authorization eligibility to up to 36 months.” Whereas most programs only offer international students the visa flexibility to work for a year, 3 years is enough time to get serious work experience to take back to your country of origin – or perhaps apply for residency.
Moreover, unlike some MBA programs, this one does not place a heavy emphasis on work experience. Entering students have an average tenure of only 17 months in the field, so if you have no experience at all, or only a few years, you should still feel comfortable applying.
How Can You Pay for School?
The total tuition amount for the MSBA is an estimated $63,096. This may vary depending on whether you’re in-state or out, electives and activities, and so forth. Because it is a lot of money, you should be sure to look into scholarship opportunities and apply for federal financial aid if necessary.
